With the saying “Healthy mind in a healthy body,” Puerto Vallarta Mayor Luis Alberto Michel Rodríguez congratulated the nearly 200 participants of the “Sports Master of Yoga,” which took place this weekend on Holi Beach, headed by teacher Iván López, who traveled from Guadalajara to be a part of this interesting project.
Michel pointed out that “sport is the best way to maintain a healthy mind, a physically strong body, and sport keeps us away from many bad things. Coming to the beach to practice it is better because we breathe very clean air, which decongests us, the respiratory tract, medicinally recommended.”
He added that practicing sports early allows us to continue the rest of our day free from any mental contamination, therefore, “I recommend that the people of Vallarta continue doing it, and invite more friends and family to strengthen themselves, create a discipline that helps us to live better,” especially with yoga, in which the body and mind merge into one to achieve the harmony we need to cope with day-to-day activities.
The organizer of the event, David de la Rosa, highlighted the participation of several certified instructors who contribute to the realization of the yoga sessions at Holi Beach every two weeks, open to the general public.
Instructor Zuri Zagdai Rangel Barrera thanked Michel for his support in achieving this project in order to extend the benefit of practicing yoga to all Vallartans who are interested in this discipline.
