Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, acting director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Promotion and Advertising Trust, reported that Vallarta’s airport has 673 flights scheduled in the first half of December. This represents an increase of 18% compared to the first half of November, which was 639 flights.
He said that United Airlines has had the largest number of international flights, at 141. Domestically, Aeromexico has more than 80 scheduled for the first two weeks.
He also said that hotels are reporting good occupancy rates, which he expects will be above 45% by the end of the year.
Although Puerto Vallarta will not have any holiday parties, tourists are learning to live with the new normal. They will have to be in their hotels or restaurants, using proper health measures.
