Tragic events still happen in Puerto Vallarta that involve local crocodiles. Now, one specimen attacked a fisherman, and then another animal was found mutilated, as at least two others have appeared in the coastal municipality.
A man lost his arm after a crocodile attacked him last Sunday in the Ameca River, far from the mouth of the sea. Rescue personnel managed to capture the reptile that weighed 300 kilos and measured 4 meters to relocate it, while the person was given medical attention .
According to the report, after this, another adult crocodile was found mutilated on Boca de Tomates beach, an area where they live in freedom.
Authorities are investigating to determine if it is the same specimen that attacked the fisherman.
It is not the first time something similar has happened. At the beginning of last July, the body of a man in an advanced state of decomposition was located while he was being eaten by a crocodile, also on the banks of the Ameca River.
Last September, the residents and tourists of Puerto Vallarta made a horrifying discovery when on a beach near the Marina, they found the body of a crocodile in an advanced state of decomposition, and without a head.
Some think that larger crocodiles attack others, being territorial. But others assume that they could be victims of boat propellers or direct attacks.
