Several reports to 911 alerted the Municipal Police about gunshots in Marina Vallarta yesterday. When officers arrived, they found an operation in progress by the National Guard and the Army.
Two people were arrested, and a Mercedes SUV was seized. In the Versailles neighborhood, residents reported the closure of Avenida Viena between Roma and Melchor Ocampo, both for vehicles and pedestrians.
The National Guard was seen on Albatros and Gansos streets shortly before 3 pm, and Mexican Army troops began to arrive shortly after.
The two people were apparently wounded, and being treated at the IMSS Hospital, since there was a strong presence of the Army and the National Guard there.
It is unknown who the detainees are, or what happened, or why the two people were detained.
