From December 1 to 12, traffic in Puerto Vallarta’s downtown will be adjusted to accommodate the traditional Guadalupe pilgrimages, ensuring the safety of attendees, residents, and tourists while maintaining orderly traffic flow during this major regional festivity.

Key changes include:

  • Public transport detours: Routes to downtown will divert through Peru Street at Panama, returning via Colombia Street.
  • Two-way traffic on Morelos Street: Open from Jesús Langarica to Morelos and Libertad.
  • Street closures: Juárez and Libertad Streets will close, with traffic redirected to Morelos Street; Hidalgo Street will close at Guerrero.
  • Heavy vehicle diversion: Trucks from the southern area will reroute via Lázaro Cárdenas and Insurgentes.

The Guadalupe pilgrimages, a vital religious and cultural event, attract thousands of participants honoring the Virgin of Guadalupe, enhancing both the community’s spiritual identity and the city’s tourism and economy.

Municipal authorities recommend drivers plan ahead, use alternate routes, and avoid downtown during peak times to minimize disruptions. These measures aim to ensure a smooth and safe celebration for all.
