The peaceful atmosphere of Mismaloya was shattered Saturday morning when the body of a man was discovered among the vegetation near the curve by the famous stone arches.

A call to 911 brought municipal police officers from the nearby tourist zone to the scene. After descending to the beach area, officers found the body of a man, estimated to be around 30 years old. He was half-naked, wearing only boxer shorts, and bore several visible tattoos on his arms and chest.

Authorities quickly cordoned off the area while investigators from the Puerto Vallarta Regional Prosecutor’s Office began their inquiry. The body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO), where an autopsy will determine the cause of death and whether foul play was involved.

The man’s identity remains unknown, and officials have yet to confirm whether the death was the result of a crime. The discovery has left both locals and tourists shaken, as the location is a well-traveled area.

The Prosecutor’s Office is continuing its investigation and has not ruled out any possibilities as it works to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
