Residents of Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta, are demanding urgent improvements to the bus stop located on the Las Palmas highway, in front of the Costa Dorada area near Bodega Aurrerá.
Commuters report that the stop has no roof or shelter to protect passengers from the sun. The problem worsened after nearby trees were pruned, leaving the area without shade and creating a safety risk, as a falling branch recently endangered those waiting.
Other concerns include the absence of sidewalks and the accumulation of trash. Without a garbage container, waste builds up, and nearby businesses—including pharmacies, a rotisserie chicken stand, and a department store—do not maintain the stop’s surroundings.
Residents also point out that the worn-down speed bump in front of the stop allows cars to speed through the intersection, raising the risk of accidents in a heavily used zone.
Community members are urging City Hall and the relevant departments to take immediate action to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper infrastructure at this key location, which serves hundreds of daily passengers traveling between Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta, and nearby communities.
