Personnel from the Jalisco State Civil Protection Unit reported on Wednesday that red and purple flags are being placed on beaches in Puerto Vallarta.

The red flags are being placed on all the beaches of Puerto Vallarta, while the purple flag is only being placed from El Holly Beach to Playa de Oro due to the recent appearance of a crocodile in the area.

The agency explained that the red flag was applied because, since this Wednesday morning, the waves and rough sea conditions have increased. Entry to the to the sea for swimming and/or recreational activities is therefore prohibited on all Puerto Vallarta beaches.
