Everything is ready for this May 3 and 4, when the Sub-directorate of Environment of the City Council will carry out the first campaign of “Electroacopio,” where, through three collection points, they will be receiving all kinds of electrical and old, discontinued technology that people no longer want in their homes or establishments.

Under the motto “It’s your planet, not your garbage dump,” three collection points will be set up for two days, which will be located in the Agustín Flores Contreras sports unit in the offices of the Environment Department (República de Ecuador 650-A, Coapinole neighborhood) and the Ixtapa Dome from 9 to 6.

The objective is for all these devices to have adequate treatment and a final destination  without mixing them with the rest of the garbage, so that they do not become sources of contamination that affect our environment due to their components. It is therefore important that residents bring their disused electrical and electronic devices to contribute to this important task, which takes care of everyone’s health.

Among the devices that will be received in this campaign are CPUs, scanners, stoves, recorders, electric ovens, microwave ovens, printers, iPods, fluorescent lamps, laptops, washing machines, blenders, electric typewriters, machines, USB/ RAM, musical instruments, monitors, modems, mouse.

Likewise, solar heaters, digital cameras, toner cartridges, cell phones with or without batteries, video game consoles, TV and video game controllers, copiers, fax machines, hair clippers, chips, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, auto stereos, digital scales, cell phone batteries, vehicle batteries, electric mixers, speakers, electrical cables, coffee makers, and calculators, among others, will be collected.
