City Council members of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) have complained about the delay in governing the municipality, and exposed the urgent issues that they have not been able to address in the city council because it has gone into recess three times.

Councilor Luis Munguía said that the mayor asked him not to attend the city council session.

Munguía said, “I told him, how do you think I’m not going to go, Mayor? I’m going to go, and I’m going to vote against him.”

On the pending issues, Munguía said that he has not been able to expose in council the concerns of environmental groups about the project for the Los Peines pier, where the mangrove is in danger. Another issue is the request for information from the Seapal Vallarta program to fix the drainage that has the city paralyzed at various points, such as Mexico Avenue, the National Polytechnic, Pitillal Center, and Las Palmas Avenue, among others. There is also the issue of a patching program to repair the destroyed streets.

Councilor Carla Castro presented two initiatives, one for the contracting of a system so that the streets of the city have a Braille system so that people with visual disabilities can find their way around, and another one for the danger that a family from the Ramblases neighborhood runs due to a cave-in on the street, and through which a heavy-duty truck could fall on the house when tilting.

Councilor Francisco Sánchez Gaeta has not been able to put to a vote an exhortation to the Municipal Government to deliver the school supplies that have been in boxes since the end of August.

He said, “they have not been distributed because they have not had time for the mayor to take the photo. The parents have already spent on supplies.”

Sánchez said that, next week, he will present the impeachment request against Mayor Luis Michel for presenting to the Congress of Jalisco an Income Law for 2023 different from the one approved by the plenary session, He will also present a similar complaint to for the Jalisco Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
