Starting today, October 30, Puerto Vallarta’s iconic Art Walk returns for another season, featuring 19 participating galleries in the city’s historic downtown. This beloved tradition, now in its 28th year, invites art enthusiasts to explore a diverse range of exhibits every Wednesday evening from October through June, from 6 to 10 pm.
At the launch of the 2024 Art Walk, Abraham Valle, representing the Córsica gallery, shared that each gallery showcases the finest pieces from its catalog of Mexican and international artists, often offering complimentary wine, canapés, and the chance to meet the artists. The Art Walk is free to attend and provides easy access to multiple galleries within a walkable distance, making it a social and immersive experience for art lovers.
The Art Walk will continue until June 25, 2025, fostering an environment that not only celebrates creativity but also supports the local economy. Valle noted the event’s positive impact on downtown businesses, stating, “The Art Walk greatly contributes to the economy in the area, bringing patrons to local restaurants, shops, and businesses that benefit from the influx of art enthusiasts each week.”
In an effort to enhance the experience, organizers are working to make Leona Vicario Street pedestrian-only during Art Walk hours, allowing visitors to stroll between galleries with ease. Valle emphasized that pedestrian-friendly zones encourage local spending, as visitors are more likely to explore nearby businesses and enjoy the ambiance of the area.
The 2024 Art Walk invites all residents of Puerto Vallarta to join, emphasizing that the event is for locals as much as for tourists. It offers a chance to experience exceptional art and support the city’s vibrant creative community. This year’s participating galleries include Barcelona Tapas, Colectika, Córsica, Omar Alonso, Atelier 2020, Emotions, Browne, Jovian, Uno, Mann Made Mexico, Kris K, Lod, The Loft, Galería de Ollas, Unfinished, HDA, Pacífico, and Unfinished en Libertad.
