Puerto Vallarta is making significant strides in infrastructure and urban mobility, with a series of projects designed to improve quality of life for residents and support continued growth as a major tourist destination. Governor Pablo Lemus recently praised Mayor Luis Munguía for his leadership on transformative initiatives during the joint inauguration of the newly completed Francisco Murguía Street, located near The Home Depot.
The new two-lane road is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve cargo transport access into the city. With an investment of 18 million pesos, the project benefits more than 56,800 residents and includes modern street lighting, landscaped medians, improved signage, and updated water and sewage systems. Mayor Munguía emphasized the street’s importance in enhancing local mobility, safety, and overall community well-being.
In addition to the new roadway, Lemus and Munguía inspected ongoing construction at the Las Juntas Interchange Bridge, a key component of the city’s infrastructure expansion. The mayor also confirmed upcoming projects, including a new pier in Mismaloya and feasibility studies for another at Uruguay Street, both aimed at boosting maritime connectivity.
Puerto Vallarta is also preparing to expand its public transportation fleet, with 67 air-conditioned buses arriving within five weeks. Further vehicle additions are expected later this year along the Francisco Medina Ascencio corridor.
