From radio to politics and now to scandal—Konny Moctezuma, former media personality and political candidate, is at the center of controversy as fraud accusations emerge against her dress boutique in Puerto Vallarta.

Konny Moctezuma, a well-known radio and television host for nearly a decade, built a strong following in Puerto Vallarta. In 2024, she ran for a city council seat under the Labor Party (PT), but was unsuccessful. Now, she’s back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, earning the nickname “Lady Vestidos” due to allegations of fraudulent business practices.

Originally from Guadalajara, Moctezuma has lived in Puerto Vallarta for almost two decades. In February 2020, she launched Konny Moctezuma Lux Rent Dress, aiming to “enhance feminine beauty” and promote the city as an event destination. However, the boutique is now facing backlash, with multiple customers accusing her of failing to pay them for consigned dresses.

Several women took to Facebook to claim they never received their agreed-upon payments for rented wedding dresses, with some reporting that their gowns were returned in poor condition. One customer alleged that her wedding dress was rented out without her consent, and when she confronted Moctezuma, the boutique owner initially denied it and refused to pay.

As more testimonies surfaced, social media erupted with criticism. While no formal legal complaints have been confirmed, the controversy has raised serious concerns.

In response, Moctezuma claimed she and her family were facing threats and harassment. She later announced a temporary closure of the boutique, stating that only pre-ordered dresses would be delivered. On the boutique’s Facebook page, frustrated customers continue to demand refunds and answers.

As the scandal unfolds, it remains to be seen whether legal action will follow.
