Carlos López Aranda Ramirez, president of the National Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Service (Canaco Servytur) Puerto Vallarta, reported that the call to submit the request to declare the center of this city a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) will close next month, for which reason they held meetings with business owners here who saw this proposal as feasible.
Aranda said that they have already carried out the required studies to request the federal government to declare the historic center of this city a Magical Town.
In addition, they have already held meetings with owners of businesses in the center who see it as favorable to declare this place a Magical Town. On Tuesday, the Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco, Vanessa Pérez Lamas, met with them to discuss this proposal.
To carry out the procedures, she said that they could be asking for support from the work team of the Magical Town of Guadalupe, Zacatecas, and thus to be able to apply this year, and not wait until 2024, which is an electoral year during which this program could be suspended.
She continued, “The request has to be submitted by the state government through the Jalisco Secretary of Tourism with the signature of the mayor of Puerto Vallarta.”
Aranda also assured that the city will not be losing government budgets due to this. On the contrary, there will be more promotion and participation of Puerto Vallarta in Magical Towns fairs.
Among some adjustments would be underground wiring, arrangement of the facades of houses, properties, pedestrian areas, and more.
