Tourism service providers of the Arcos de Mismaloya National Park have criticized activities that endanger the fragile ecological balance of this protected natural area.

They mentioned that in the beach area, where a private house is being demolished, high-impact works are being carried out right up to the beach area, which is also a federal zone.

With the help of a backhoe excavator, they moved rocks, making a kind of breakwater, which would change the ecology there.

This was carried out just 200 meters from the rock known as Devil’s Rock, an area that is home to a large amount of marine life, and is threatened by private interests.

Making changes in the dynamics of the tides is harmful to marine life, especially with breakwaters.

Such is the case of the Huanacaxtle beaches in Bucerias Nayarit, where the installation of the breakwaters caused serious damage to the fishing activity.

The arches represent the economic well-being of hundreds of families who carry out tourist activities in this national park.

The irreversible ecological damage that marine species may suffer if this work is allowed to continue, without the ecological authorities reviewing the impact that these changes may generate on the environment, should be investigated immediately.
