After years of public demand, the municipal government has finally started the rehabilitation of Francisco Murguía Street, a key connector between Federal Highway 200 and Highway 544, which leads to Ixtapa and Las Palmas. This heavily trafficked road had been in poor condition for months.

Mayor Luis Munguía González announced that this paving project is part of a broader package of 24 infrastructure improvements set to commence before year-end.

“The total investment is 18.25 million pesos, with 12 million allocated for paving and an additional 6 million for sidewalks, benches, and urban enhancements to beautify the area,” said Munguía González. The road will be paved with hydraulic concrete and include new sidewalks, lighting, curbs, and water and sanitation infrastructure.

Simultaneously, work has begun on Manuel M. Diéguez Street in Las Juntas, backed by an investment of nearly 20 million pesos.
