Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro will proceed with his planned visit to Puerto Vallarta today, Thursday, despite a wave of violence that has recently erupted in parts of the state.

The governor is set to lead public events as part of his working tour, including the inauguration of Francisco Murguía Street in the Las Juntas neighborhood. The event is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, at the intersection with the Las Palmas Highway.

His visit comes in the wake of violent incidents reported Wednesday at various locations, including the Ocotlán toll booth on the Mexico-Guadalajara highway and in municipalities bordering Michoacán and Guanajuato. These areas have seen roadblocks, vehicle fires, and armed confrontations.

Despite the tense climate, there have been no changes to the governor’s itinerary. Security forces remain active across affected regions, with coordinated operations underway involving both state and federal agencies.

As of now, the state government has not issued any official statement regarding modifications to Lemus’ public schedule.
