Many disabled residents, both locals and tourists, have difficulties moving through the streets of Puerto Vallarta due to lack of inclusion infrastructure.

Much is needed to improve road infrastructure for people with disabilities, such as sidewalks, ramps, railings, and even for traffic lights to last a little longer in order to avoid having to run to cross the main avenue and some other streets. There are also impediments, like potholes and rods that protrude from the ground.

Also, there are no inclusive beaches. None of them have ramps or access for wheelchairs, or any other facility for people with reduced mobility. There is supposed to be a beach at Cuastecomates, Cihuatlan that has universal access, where thousands of elderly tourists are received every winter season, but there are no ramps or other special means of access there, either.

In fact, some beaches in the southern zone, such as Conchas Chinas, Las Gemelas, and Palmares, present even more access difficulties, since it is necessary to go down very steep ramps or stairs.

These issues are important ones,  not only for residents, but to maintain a high level of tourism.
