The Jalisco Secretariat of Planning and Citizen Participation is calling on residents to take part in a public consultation forum today, Thursday, March 27, at the University Center of the Coast (CUC) in Puerto Vallarta. The event, which begins at 11:00 a.m., is part of the development process for the State Development Plan.
The forum will bring together the mayors of eight municipalities in the Western Costa Sierra region, including Puerto Vallarta, Atenguillo, Cabo Corrientes, Guachinango, Mascota, Mixtlán, San Sebastián del Oeste, and Talpa de Allende. Puerto Vallarta Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía González will also be present for the inauguration of the Regional Council.
Jalisco’s Planning and Citizen Participation Secretary, Cinthya Cantero Pacheco, emphasized the importance of local engagement in shaping public policy. The forum will feature roundtable discussions where attendees can express concerns, share ideas, and propose solutions to key issues affecting Puerto Vallarta.
“We want all Jalisco residents to actively contribute to shaping the future of our state over the next six years,” Cantero Pacheco said. She highlighted that similar forums have taken place across Jalisco and that this is the ninth regional consultation. A digital platform, armemosunplan.mx, has also been launched, with over 320,000 participants so far.
The forum is open to the general public, business leaders, academics, and civil society organizations. The government encourages Puerto Vallarta residents to attend and make their voices heard.
