Galilea Guadalupe “N,” a former attorney in the Supply Department of the Puerto Vallarta Municipal Government during the 2021-2024 administration, has been formally charged with embezzlement, improper performance, and neglect of public service.
The indictment was issued by Judge Luis Daniel Canales González following an investigation by the Jalisco Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. During an initial hearing at the Eighth Judicial District Court in Puerto Vallarta, the judge determined there was sufficient evidence to proceed with a trial.
According to the Jalisco State Penal Code, Galilea Guadalupe “N” is accused of holding a government position without meeting the legal requirements and collecting a salary without fully performing her duties. She allegedly assumed her role in February 2024 without a professional degree and was paid for five months despite frequent absences and failing to complete her work schedule.
As a precautionary measure, she has been suspended from her current position as Legal Director of the Puerto Vallarta City Council for six months. She is also required to check in monthly with the State Precautionary Measures Unit (UMECAS) and is prohibited from leaving Jalisco, except for authorized trips to Bahía de Banderas.
The case emerged after a complaint was filed against her, prompting an investigation by the Regional Agency of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption in Puerto Vallarta. Following the inquiry, authorities determined she should face trial.
