A powerful winter storm sweeping across the southern United States has led to the cancellation of flights departing from Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta airports. Adverse weather conditions, particularly in Texas, have disrupted operations, forcing airlines to suspend routes to destinations such as Houston, San Antonio, Reynosa, and Monterrey.
Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), the operator of both airports, confirmed that several flights have been canceled due to severe weather in the U.S.
At Guadalajara International Airport, seven flights had been canceled by noon on Tuesday. These include four flights to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, one to San Antonio, one to Reynosa, and one to Monterrey. Additionally, a flight to Monterrey has been rescheduled.
In Puerto Vallarta, two flights were canceled. One was destined for George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and the other for William P. Hobby Airport, both located in Houston.
The cancellations stem from the heavy snow and freezing temperatures impacting much of the southern U.S., with Houston’s airports among the hardest hit. Operations there have been suspended to ensure the safety of passengers and crews.
This winter storm has disrupted air travel across the country, with thousands of flights canceled nationwide. Passengers with scheduled flights to or from the United States are urged to check with their airlines for the latest updates on their flight statuses.
