Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro on the afternoon of this Tuesday, January 16, that the first doses of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine have arrived, which will be applied only to people from vulnerable groups.

Days ago, Alfaro announced that Jalisco would be the first state to orchestrate its own vaccination campaign, unrelated to that carried out by the federal government, and that here, immunosuppressants approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) would be used.

“The modern COVID-19 vaccines have arrived, with which, endorsed by the WHO, tomorrow we will start our own vaccination day for the most vulnerable groups,” he wrote on his social networks.

Fernando Petersen, Secretary of Health of Jalisco, explained that a total of 10,000 Covid vaccines arrived Tuesday, to begin the campaign today, January 17.

Petersen added that vaccination will begin in shelters and living facilities.
