According to the first reports, employees of the Potable Water, Drainage and Sewerage Service (Seapal) of Puerto Vallarta were working in the area, when they discovered the body.

Municipal police officers arrived, and asked for the Civil Protection and Firefighters of Vallarta to recover the body, which did not have a head, or upper and lower limbs .

The rescuers secured the torso to prevent it from being pulled back into the water by the crocodiles while waiting for the Prosecutor’s Office personnel to lift the body.

It was said that it is a person of approximately 35 to 40 years of age, who will be identified through DNA samples. The authorities are also working to determine the cause of death.

On July 26, a leg with crocodile bites was found on the beaches of Nuevo Vallarta at the mouth of the Ameca River, so it is presumed that it could be the extremity of this body.
