Cirque du Soleil and Grupo Vidanta have announced LUDŌ, a new water-themed performance set to debut on December 12, 2025, at the VidantaWorld resort in Nuevo Vallarta. The production will be Cirque du Soleil’s second permanent show in Mexico, following the success of JOYÀ in the Riviera Maya.
LUDŌ will be staged at the upcoming BON Luxury Theme Park, set to officially open in 2026. The show will feature water-based acrobatics, music, and immersive visuals in a purpose-built, 696-seat theater. The venue is equipped with surround sound and a retractable stage that can convert into a deep water pool, enabling a range of aquatic and aerial performances.
Directed by Michel Laprise, known for his previous work with Cirque du Soleil, LUDŌ centers on the theme of water as a creative and transformative element. The production will include live orchestral and electronic music, video projections, and a storyline that blends nature and fantasy.
The show will run year-round, with more than 300 performances annually, including family-friendly matinees. The theater is fully accessible and will offer assistive services, including sensory-friendly shows and wheelchair-accessible seating.
Several ticket packages will be available, from general admission to VIP experiences that include dinner, champagne, and resort transport. Food and drink will be provided by Vidanta’s culinary team, with in-seat service available for all guests.
Grupo Vidanta also plans to involve local talent in the production, with hiring and training programs set to begin later this year. Tourism officials expect LUDŌ to help attract visitors year-round and boost the local economy.
Tickets are now on sale at cirquedusoleil.com/ludo, with early-bird pricing available through July 31, 2025.
