An approximately 60-year-old man, originally from Canada, overturned his black Nissan Altima car yesterday afternoon in the right lane of the Costa Coral overpass bridge at the second entrance to Nuevo Vallarta. The car was left up-side-down, and with extensive damage.
The man suffered injuries in the left occipital region, abrasions in the upper and lower extremities due to the broken windshield, as well as pain in the cervical vertebrae, and was immediately transferred by paramedics to a private hospital in Nuevo Vallarta.
According to the driver, he was driving through the central lanes, and was trying to join the uneven bridge, when the left front tire struck out and caused him to lose control, crashing into a retaining wall, and then flipping over.
