The Jalisco Comprehensive Emissions Regulation Agency (AIRE) on the Jalisco State Government page reported that, in February, vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2 have to undergo mandatory emission testing.

In March, fines for not having the emission test hologram sticker on vehicles whose plate numbers end in 1 will come into force.

The following information has been provided by the AIRE program.

What cars have verification in February?

“During February, all vehicles with license plate endings 1 and 2 (regardless of whether their license plates are from other states or from other countries) that circulate permanently in the mandatory areas must carry out the vehicle (emissions) verification.”

These are the mandatory areas

Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (ZMG): Guadalajara, Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, Juanacatlán, El Salto, Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Zapopan and Zapotlanejo; Ocotlán Metropolitan Area: Ocotlán, Jamay and Poncitlán; Southern Metropolitan Area (Ciudad Guzmán): Zapotlán el Grande, Gómez Farías and Zapotiltic; as well as Tepatitlán de Morelos and Puerto Vallarta.

To encourage the Vehicle Verification program, the following benefits have been established:

  • 10% discount on the payment of the 2023 vehicle endorsement to those who received its verification during 2022.

•   20% discount on the cost of regularizing foreign vehicles with permanent stay who received verification during 2022.

AIRE also made an alliance with Club Deportivo Guadalajara, and all people who present their current responsible verification badge in the Akron Stadium parking lot will be granted preferential parking during Chivas home games throughout the 2023 Tournament.

AIRE said that 17,289 tests have been conducted, with an approval rate of 78.48% at the first test.
