On a video circulated on social networks, at least four trucks could be seen on fire near Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán. The recordings were published on Tuesday, November 22.
According to reports, the attacks were the result of the refusal to pay the extortion money demanded by organized crime groups from local producers, so they set fire to trucks full of produce.
In the same area, on November 18, Michoacán authorities reported the arrest of two men allegedly responsible for the kidnapping and murder of the secretary of an Ocampo city council official and his father.
On Wednesday, November 28, the former secretary of the city council Omar Daniel Colín and Juan Colín Vanegas were found dead inside a van in the Municipality of Zitacuaro.
Through a statement, the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported the capture of two individuals, identified as Alfonso “N” and Martín “N”, the alleged perpetrators of the executions.
According to documents from the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), leaked by the Guacamaya hacker group, various mayors of Michoacán are linked to the criminal group Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), which can be seen in the absence of police in areas where cartel activities are common, and where most crimes are committed with impunity.
Through a report from the National Intelligence Center dated September 13, 2021, it was reported that at least 18 public servants in the state have ties to CJNG.

On another occasion, Army troops repelled an attack by a group of armed men linked to the Pájaros Sierra group. The result was five men killed, and two injured. That occurred on Wednesday, November 16 in Michoacán.
