While Puerto Vallarta is well-known for its tourist attractions, some neighborhoods face significant challenges that affect residents’ quality of life. According to an analysis conducted using ChatGPT, an AI program, several areas in the city struggle with issues such as crime, inadequate services, and flood risks.
The AI analysis considered factors like crime rates, access to essential services, infrastructure quality, and natural hazards to determine which neighborhoods face the greatest challenges.
The findings highlighted El Pitillal, La Aurora, and Las Mojoneras as some of the most problematic areas, citing frequent incidents of theft and violence along with inadequate public services, including drinking water, street lighting, and transportation.
Other neighborhoods such as Lomas del Coapinole and Palmar de Aramara also face significant difficulties, particularly due to their vulnerability to flooding during the rainy season. The analysis pointed out that the lack of proper drainage and proximity to water sources exacerbate this risk.
