The Puerto Vallarta Reporter is an English-language online news publication serving existing and prospective expats visiting or living in the Puerto Vallarta region of Jalisco, Mexico.
Its mission is to provide readers with the news they need to live well-informed lives. Its primary focus is on local news, but it also covers regional, national, and international news if it is relevant to the expat community. It is the only publication of its kind in the Puerto Vallarta area since its focus is not on tourism, events, and advertising, but on real news.
The Puerto Vallarta Reporter makes all editorial decisions based on globally-recognized journalistic standards. That is:
- the only criteria for not reporting news is the safety of our staff (physical and legal),
- information sources are only revealed with permission,
- money or in-kind donations are never accepted for information,
- no advertising is accepted.
The Puerto Vallarta Reporter is funded exclusively through membership subscriptions. This avoids any reporting biases inherent in being dependent on advertisers.
