Work has resumed on Federación Avenue, a long-awaited road project on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta. The Director of Public Works, Edén Arturo Castillón Villaseñor, announced that this stage of construction is expected to be completed within a month.

Located in the northern part of the city, within the municipal district of El Pitillal, Federación Avenue runs between the neighborhoods of Lomas del Coapinole and San Esteban. The project is designed to ease traffic congestion from Ixtapa, as the avenue connects with Víctor Iturbe, Ecuador, and Las Garzas avenues, crossing Highway 544.

“Work has already resumed; crews are pouring the road slab for the remaining two lanes. The north-to-south section is underway, with two blocks already completed. The goal is to finish this stage of Federación Avenue within a month,” Castillón Villaseñor explained.

This phase of the project will cover approximately 700 linear meters, including sidewalks and curbs, between Revolución Street and 8 de Mayo Street. The cost for this stage is estimated at 12 million pesos.

While this construction marks important progress, the Director confirmed that the avenue’s full expansion into a four-lane road will not be completed until 2026, as the second phase of the project is still pending.
