The 32nd International Mariachi and Charrería Meeting will take place from August 27 to September 7 across Jalisco, with Puerto Vallarta joining the festivities through a free mariachi concert at the Aquiles Serdán Amphitheater, better known as Los Arcos del Malecón.
The concert is scheduled for Friday, August 29, at 7:00 p.m., and will feature one of the top mariachi ensembles invited to this year’s edition. The performance is part of the “Concerts in Municipalities” program, which brings the traditions of mariachi and charrería to communities beyond Guadalajara, the festival’s main stage.
Founded in 1994 and organized by the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce, the International Mariachi and Charrería Meeting has become one of Mexico’s premier cultural festivals. Each year it showcases not only world-class mariachi music but also parades, charreadas, sung masses, and special galas at Guadalajara’s iconic Degollado Theater.
The program also extends to Jalisco’s Magical Towns, with events in Cocula, Tlaquepaque, Tequila, and Ajijic. By gathering the most celebrated mariachi groups from Mexico and abroad, the festival highlights Jalisco’s role as the birthplace of mariachi and charrería—both recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
With Puerto Vallarta’s waterfront amphitheater as the backdrop, the August 29 concert promises to be a highlight of the 2025 festival, offering locals and visitors alike the chance to experience one of Mexico’s most cherished cultural traditions in a spectacular setting.
