A robbery in Puerto Vallarta’s Gaviotas neighborhood ended with the arrest of a repeat offender, thanks to quick action by neighbors and a coordinated police response.

The incident occurred when a woman leaving the gym and walking home in the Aralias neighborhood was confronted by a man wielding a rock. He threatened her and stole her belongings, but her cries for help drew the attention of nearby residents, who chased the suspect.

During his escape, the man discarded the stolen items, which were recovered intact and returned to the victim. Municipal Police, already responding to the report, located and arrested Cristóbal “N,” known as “El Tubas,” a resident of the Floresta neighborhood. He is being held in the municipal jail pending formal charges.

Authorities confirmed that “El Tubas” is a familiar figure to police, with a history of pedestrian and home robberies. Despite multiple arrests, he has repeatedly been released from prison.

Police are urging residents to file and follow up on official complaints so the Attorney General’s Office can take action and ensure offenders like him face proper legal consequences.
