The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of downtown Puerto Vallarta on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The outage is due to maintenance work at CFE facilities.

According to notices distributed to residents and businesses, electricity service will be interrupted on Juárez, Morelos, and Paseo Díaz Ordaz streets (between Allende and Pípila) from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“Dear customer, please be advised that on Thursday, March 20, 2025, maintenance work will be carried out on our facilities, resulting in an interruption of electricity service (Juárez, Morelos, and Paseo Díaz Ordaz streets between Allende and Pípila), from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,” the CFE statement reads.

The outage will impact numerous businesses, residents, and visitors in the area. Authorities recommend taking precautions and planning accordingly for any activities that require electricity.

How to Report a Power Outage to CFE

If you experience an unscheduled power outage, follow these steps to report it to the CFE:

  • Check that your main switch is in the ON position, ensure that fuses are not damaged, and confirm that the switch lever is up.
  • Gather the necessary information:
    • Service number (found in the top right corner of your CFE bill)
    • Full address (including street name, number, neighborhood, municipality, state, and postal code)
    • A contact phone number
  • Submit your report via the CFE Contigo app, by calling 071, or by visiting a local CFE office.
