After the Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco collective discovered several clandestine crematoriums on a ranch located in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, they now shared that there are more than 200 pairs of shoes at the site, which could belong to missing persons.
“There were more than 200 pairs because we saw them. As all these young people arrived and their belongings were taken, some left, went to another place, were sent to another city, not all of them died,” the representative of the group told the newspaper Milenio.
It should be noted that this place, in the town of La Estanzuela, had been secured since September 2024, but it was only recently that the ovens were discovered, which were supposedly used to illegally cremate bodies.
According to information shared by the State Attorney General’s Office, this place was used as a training center by organized crime.
After carrying out the relevant work, authorities located several bone remains that had already been burned, although their exact number is not yet known, as well as 96 shell casings of various calibers, magazines and metal caps.
“The skeletal remains were burned and buried, and were also hidden under a layer of earth and a brick slab, which prevented their detection during the initial inspection,” the Prosecutor’s Office explained.
