Puerto Vallarta is gearing up for significant roadworks and infrastructure improvements in 2025, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing urban development.

Key projects include the long-anticipated Amado Nervo Bridge and the Las Juntas road node, alongside various municipal initiatives focused on paving, cobblestones, and park renovations.

The Amado Nervo Bridge, formerly known as the Federación Bridge, has been in the planning stages for years. Announced recently by President Claudia Sheinbaum, the project will be funded with federal resources. Governor Pablo Lemus confirmed that the executive plans have been submitted to the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation, with construction expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.

In addition, the Las Juntas road node will aim to improve traffic flow in the area. This project, supported by both state and municipal funding, will be formally announced during a visit to Puerto Vallarta by Governor Lemus and Mayor Luis Munguía on January 3.

Municipal investments will include seven key projects approved by the City Council’s Public Works Adjudication Committee. These include rehabilitating sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and medians along Francisco Medina Ascencio Boulevard, improving access roads to Boca de Tomates in the Las Juntas district, and upgrading Guatemala Street in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood.

Parks such as Lázaro Cárdenas, Hidalgo, Los Sauces, Los Mangos, and Magisterio Park will undergo renovations, while cobblestone paving with mortar and concrete footprints will enhance roads in neighborhoods like Los Almacenes and Cristóbal Colón.

Additional infrastructure includes paving Kristal and Rosita Streets in the Vidafel area and constructing domes at local schools, benefiting neighborhoods like Lomas del Coapinole, Ixtapa, and Buenos Aires.

These projects promise to improve traffic flow, public spaces, and quality of life for Puerto Vallarta residents in the coming year.
