The variety of medical specialties offered in the region has now expanded with the opening of the Neuro Wellness Clinic, specializing in the care of brain diseases.
Dr. Jorge Yañez, neurosurgeon specialist in cerebral catheterization, reported that the clinic
can address problems related to neurodegenerative diseases, and can serve people from infants to older adults.
He said, “The range of diseases that we can treat includes: aneurysms, dementia, stroke, malformations, cognitive disorders, and epilepsy.”
The Neuro Wellness clinic is made up of eight specialists in physical rehabilitation, clinical neurology for children and adults, general medicine, neurophysiology, geriatrics,
rheumatology, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and cerebral catheterization, among other specialties.
Dr. Andrea Maldonado, a member of the team of this new clinic, emphasized the importance of knowing the symptoms of strokes among the most vulnerable
population.
She said, “Although there is no predetermined age to have a brain event, it is important from the age of 50 to be attentive to any symptoms, such as prolonged, continuous and unexplained headaches in order to intervene in time.”
Dr. Maldonado reported that they will be giving away valuation consultations through June. In addition, they will be managing the possibility of performing surgeries at no cost through the Mari-Tami Foundation.
The Neuro Wellness clinic is located on the second floor of the Diagnóstika building located at Avenida Francisco Villa 1389 A.
