Although Roslyn made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane on Sunday morning in Santa Cruz, Nayarit, it left only moderate rains and high waves in Puerto Vallarta, causing flooding on the malecóns and in some streets, and knocking over eight trees, which damaged four cars.

No fatalities or injuries were reported in Jalisco, but three people were reported dead in Nayarit.

Up to five meter high waves and winds battered the metal curtains of businesses along malecón 2, and whipped sand onto merchant floors.

Merchants spent Monday cleaning up, and most businesses are now operating normally, as are the public buses and the airport.

The Municipal Civil Protection and Fire Department of Puerto Vallarta reported that the Cuale River reached 80 percent of its capacity on Sunday night.

The Pitillal River also reached 80 percent of its capacity.

The Mascota and Ameca rivers remanied at their normal levels.
