The events occurred on Highway 544, which goes to the coastal municipality, when a red pickup truck and a dark-colored Mazda truck collided.
According to preliminary information, the result of the mishap was one dead, at least three people injured, and a body found in one of the vehicles.
Several weapons were also removed from the vehicle.
The remaining two seriously injured people were transferred by ambulance to a hospital in Puerto Vallarta, with an unknown vehicle following them.
One of the accident victims died in the hospital.
The State Unit for Civil Protection and Firefighters Jalisco (UEPCBJ) confirmed the crash, noting that their support was not required since it was attended by municipal authorities.
The State Prosecutor’s Office has not issued any information on this event.
