According to Integral Port Administration, Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Panorama cruise ship is scheduled to arrive in Puerto Vallarta on Wednesday, August 25, the first in almost 18 months.

The ship will arrive with 70% of its tourist capacity, that is, around 3,400 tourists, in addition to 1,400 crew members.

Cruises with tourists canceled their tours in Mexico in March 2020, when the pandemic paralyzed all activities in the world.

During these almost 18 months, Puerto Vallarta has been a reception site for cruise ships without tourists, who come to resupply food and drinking water. However, this month the drought of this economic niche will end.

There are no details about how long the ship will stay in Vallarta, but it is the first step to the economic reactivation of this type of tourism.
